Whoohoo Wednesday!

YAY!!! It is Wednesday so we are almost to the weekend! And the weather here right now is just AWESOME! So everybody say it with me now...WHOOHOO!!! Feels great right?!?! Today, I want to share with you what I created last night! I am still without my Big Shot (great news is that I am getting all new bearings and hope to have it up and running this weekend!) and therefore, am still back to basics - but the cool thing is that the basics aren't boring! In fact, I had fun last night putting this together - so many ideas that I played with until I finally settled on this one!

Check out my blog for simple instructions for this card! www.softspotstamping.com

The first thing I had fun doing was the background!  I used the Timeless Textures stamp set and just stamped the wood-grainy looking stamp all over the Very Vanilla Card stock.  And then came the non-traditional two-toned color daisy!  Seriously thinking this is a cool fall card!  Add some Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper (available September 1) and Burlap Ribbon (kind of shredded at the bottom) and VOILA!  The sentiment is from Colorful Seasons, but you could really choose whatever sentiment fits the moment - I chose this one because it fit in the Everyday Label Punch which will be available September 1!

Here are a couple of more shots of this so simple card -

I have to admit - I am really wanting to try some other color schemes for this card as well!  What colors do you think I should try?  Let me know in the comments below and I will make it my mission to create a card you want to see!

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!  And as always...

Life is beautiful!

Hi everyone -

Well, I am back to basics of stamping!  See, my Big Shot stopped working this week.  Seems a little bearing decided it did not want to play with the others in the handle and just jumped out....no really, one of the bearings is missing so it stopped my handle from turning. So while I wait for new bearings, I am going back to the basics!

So what is back to the basics?  Ink, paper, stamps, punches, adhesives and embellishments...simple stuff..reminds me of falling in love with this craft and the company I chose to affiliate myself with - and it really is pretty cool!  While I love what I can do with the Big Shot, there are very cool things that can be done when you don't have one. Let me show you...

Here is a card I did this afternoon to complete a challenge for our team to use three different colors, Old Olive, Pool Party and Sweet Sugarplum!  I had created a card earlier this week that I liked, but I wanted something different - and here it is!

In the video, you will see how I shaded the leaves differently by stamping off!  (This just reminds me of what my lawn will soon look like when fall comes - and I love fall!)

Quick video for you - and a quick and easy card!  Hope you like it!  And as always, please let me know how I can help you get the supplies you need to make your own cards!  List of supplies I used is at the bottom!

Please share this with your friends and family!  And don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss anything!  I am also on YouTube and Facebook - check them all out!  We do have some fun conversations on my Facebook page!

Happy Stamping!

July Paper Pumpkin and special announcement!

FINALLY!!!!

(Ok, so this video was recorded last night and uploaded SIDEWAYS!!  While I think that is a pretty good movie (Sideways, that is) it's not the way I wanted you to have to watch.  After 5 attempts to rotate (yes, 5) I was finally able to get it loaded THE RIGHT WAY for you to watch!)

In this video, I show what was included in the July Paper Pumpkin kit.  And since it's the middle of August I thought I might should do this one as the new one will be on its way soon!

July's kit, Positively Picturesque, is so darned cute!!  I love the wooden tulips, the mountains, the wooden tulips, the hearts..and oh, did I mention the wooden tulips?!?!!!

So check out the video - and oh yeah, for new subscribers, your first month is HALF OFF!!!  WHOOHOO!!! Be sure to use the code HALFOFF0917 when you start your subscription!

Wasn't that fun!  Here are the two cards I made - and I am still tinkering with alternatives (stay tuned for that as I think you will love them)!

So who is going to jump right in and get their very own Paper Pumpkin?!?!!  Thirty minutes of your very own creative time each month!  Click the link to get started!

And be sure to check back here soon - previews of new products and samples coming later this week!!!
